Product Description

This museum quality piece is a very fine, original Imperial Rome Antoninianus of Emperor Herennius Etruscus, coined in Rome between 250-251 A.D.

Obverse: Radiate and draped bust right.

Reverse: Spes walking right.

Imperator Caesar Quintus Herennius Etruscus Messius Decius Augustus (known as ”Herennius Etruscus”) reigned May–June 251 A.D. (with Decius). Born: c. 227 A.D. —Died: 251 A.D. (aged 23–24) at Abritus (Razgrad, Bulgaria). He was Roman emperor in 251, ruling jointly with his father Decius. Herennius was elevated to Caesar in 250, then further raised to Augustus in May 251.
