Cassini was one of the most ambitious efforts ever mounted in planetary exploration. A joint endeavor of NASA, the European Space Agency and the Italian Space Agency, Cassini was a sophisticated robotic spacecraft sent to study Saturn and its complex system of rings and moons in unprecedented detail.

This mission has been staggeringly successful since it was inserted into orbit in 2004. This mission was also a two-in-one, as it carried and deployed the Huygens Probe in 2005, resulting in the first ever surface landing in the outer solar system when the probe touched down upon the surface of Saturn’s moon Titan.
