To start, cure the included 2L oak barrel then pour grain alcohol or neutral flavored vodka into the vessel along your essence. Give it a good shake to incorporate the ingredients then sit tight because, in just two weeks time, your one-of-a-kind blend will be aged to perfection and ready to serve straight from the tap.

Thousand Oaks Barrel Co. barrels are made from 18-24 month-old, air-dried white oak staves and then kiln dried for 3 to 10 days to get a 6-8% liquidity in the wood. Highly skilled craftspeople fully char both staves and heads to maximize the flavor extraction. They also use a medium char (rather than an alligator char) so you don't have to worry about over-oaking your spirits. A chalkboard front head makes it easy to label your barrels with the date barreled and any other pertinent information.

This set features three different flavors of Swish Barrel Essence to enhance your barrel-aged spirits. The KY Bourbon essence delivers that classic, charcoal-mellowed American corn whiskey taste. American Rye essence results in a spicier taste expanded by the great oak notes from barrel. The Small Batch Straight Bourbon is reminiscent of traditional small scale pot still bourbons from the 1800s.
