This beautiful Calcified Ammonite Half from Madagascar is a genuine fossilized example of a pseudomorph replaced by calcite. This piece is completely hand-polished to expose the internal chambers, which are lined with calcite micro-crystals. The ammonite itself has been replaced by calcite, with small areas showing its original mother of pearl iridescent outer shell. It is a complete ammonite slice and is a stunning display of natural history. These pieces are from the Late Cretaceous age (about 70 –75 million years) *Stock photo shown. You will receive a similiar size, weight and quality specimen. A Certificate of Authenticity will be included.
